Fiona Bruce MP and David Briggs, Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire join Arise Cheshire East meeting at Sandbach Town Hall
The latest Arise Cheshire East meeting, held at the start of the year on Friday 10th January, was at Sandbach Town Hall and attended by key leaders and church members from across the Cheshire East area. Those attending included David Briggs, Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire, Fiona Brown MP and Cllr David Brown, Deputy Leader, Cheshire East Council and Congleton Mayor, Cllr George Hayes.
Together with residents, and church, business and charity leaders from across the area they shared news and prayed about some of the main challenges and aspirations for the borough and nation in the coming year. Fiona Bruce MP spoke of the need to address practically and to pray for solutions to the social problems resulting from issues such as problem gambling, addiction and family breakdown which affect every community. Other key issues discussed included the need to strengthen links between local business and charities, the completion of the Local Plan and wisdom for those in authority.
Young muscians from Nantwich Elim Church helped lead the evening with Pastor Michelle Nunn.

“Arise Cheshire East exists to gather people and pray for the area and to encourage practical community support. This is our fourth Arise New Year Prayer Gathering,. We were delighted this time to have young people helping to take more of a lead in Arise. It is good too to be able to encourage and support young people like George Hayes in leadership.”
